I have a major sweet tooth and I used to think that a snack wasn't good if it wasn't covered in chocolate, or had chocolate in it, or wasn't basically a cookie or candy. It isn't a huge problem for me because as a general rule, I try to eat fairly healthy since it's better for me or whatnot and when it comes to meals I do a pretty good job at it, but during the day, especially on days where I'm sitting at my desk or running around town for work, I end up snacking a lot more. So instead of just stuffing my face with Hershey Bars and the junk food that I love, I've found some snacks that are still really fun to eat (like puffed corn, and lots of chocolate, you're welcome) but these are at least a little healthier and a less processed.

1. Chocolate Chips & Peanut Butter

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite candy hands down. Something about the combination of chocolate and peanut butter is just the perfect mix but while they may taste delicious, they really weren't doing my body any favors. The added sugar and milk chocolate made this a delicious treat but not a great snack. Introducing, a spoonful (or several) of Skippy Peanut Butter (or any type of natural nut butter) and dark chocolate chips (my favorite are Ghirardelli 60% cacao). They say that dark chocolate is actually good for you, which I am more than happy to believe, and the quality peanut butter really takes the edge off of the hangry and need to snack more.

2. Puffed Corn Snacks

You're probably thinking I'm referring to Cheetos and to be honest, I 100% am but the Simply Cheetos Puffs White Cheddar Cheese are not only delicious but they're also a little bit less processed than your traditional Cheeto snacks. These are the perfect thing to snack on when you're craving something crunchy and more fun than trail mix.

3. That's It Bars

Not too long ago, I was out grabbing a coffee and found myself in the neighborhoods Starbucks. To avoid getting hangry, I grabbed a snack off the shelf that looked fairly healthy, by that I mean it had an apple and blueberries on the front of the package. Turns out, it was a fruit bar called That's It.  All that's in the bar is a mix of fruit, which is great when you're on the go and can't pack a cartoon of blueberries for a snack. It was also surprisingly delicious and and took the edge off of my hunger. These bars are now a staple in my snack drawer and make eating a full serving of fruit much easier when you're running from place to place.

4. Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Like I said, I have a major sweet tooth but chocolate covered strawberries are probably one of my favorite things ever. Not the most convenient snack in the world but recently, while at Aldi I found a bag of Stoneridge Orchard's Strawberries and the best part is, they were dipped in chocolate. That's literally what the bag said, "Whole Strawberries dipped in chocolate." Needless to say, I bought them and they are delicious and great for on the go, or just sitting at your desk, or for dessert. Really, they're just great for anything. If you have more time and want chocolate covered strawberries without the whole mess of actually dipping them and waiting on the chocolate to cool, take a handful of chocolate chips (you can use the Ghirardelli ones I talked about earlier) and a small spoonful of peanut butter and melt it together in the microwave. Once the chocolate is melted, mix the mixture together until smooth. Then take fresh strawberries (make sure to wash them) and dip them into the chocolate and enjoy.
